Bewdley Mayor, Councillor Anna Coleman attended the launch of Bewdley Festival where musicians, comedians and actors will be heading to Wyre Forest in October for the thirtieth anniversary.

The full line-up for the anniversary festival, which will take place between October 6, and October 15, was announced at a launch event on Friday evening (July 14).

Highlights include Roger McGough and LiTTLe MACHiNe, an interview with actor Timothy Watson and an evening with Dr Pete Waterman OBE.

There will also be a visit from "China in Your Hand" hitmakers T'pau, Dead Ringers star Jan Ravens and comedian Sara Pascoe.

Two regular sell-out daytime performers will also return this year - a lecture by Max Keen, which sees Max in character as Prince Rupert of the Rhine, and Lesley Smith appearing as Boudica.

Dave Collins, festival director, said: "For an arts festival of this magnitude to reach its 30th anniversary year in a town the size of Bewdley is a splendid achievement, of which the town should be rightly proud.

"Once again, the combination of the efforts of dedicated volunteers, partnerships with local businesses, the support of sponsors, patrols and the Friends of Festival has resulted in a great line-up for the 2017 programme."

He  added: "The stars are coming to Bewdley to celebrate thirty glorious years."
