BEWDLEY Horticultural Society is holding its annual show on Saturday, August 20.

The event, which is being held a week later than usual due to scheduling, will be staged in St George’s Hall, Bewdley, from 10.30am until 3.00pm.

A variety of classes, including art, photography, handicrafts, domestic classes and classes for children will also be held, with cups presented throughout the day.

Flower, fruit and vegetable exhibits will be independently judged, with the Banksian Medal – the top accolade – presented to the entrant who wins the most prize money.

A tombola will also be held all day, while an auction of produce will begin from 3.30pm.

Society Secretary, Stuart Williams, said: "This is a family day where visitors can enjoy seeing the expertise of gardeners, domestic works and arts and crafts.

"The entrance fee is the bargain price of £1 and goes to support the cost of staging the event."
