Call for volunteers to help shape the future of Brinton Park
Bewdley Town Council
Community-minded people looking to play a key role in the future of Brinton Park are needed!
The Brinton Park Heritage project, coordinated by Wyre Forest District Council, is getting closer to applying for more funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.
A key part of the application relies on the ways people use Brinton Park. On Monday 1 July, a second visitor observation study will begin for a month and volunteers are needed to help complete it.
All volunteers will receive full training in how to carry out the observation study. The training session will be on Thursday 27 June, from 6.30pm until 8pm, in the Sons of Rest building located in Brinton Park.
It will also consist of a 30 minute walk around Brinton Park, designed to show volunteers exactly how they should conduct the study, with the added assistance of a map.
Councillor Helen Dyke, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection said: “We’re recruiting volunteers to help us complete the study, even if they are only available for just an hour a week throughout July.
“Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community and you will play a vital role in the future of Brinton Park. I really hope you can support the project by attending the training day on Thursday 27 June.”
Anyone interested in attending the training session is asked to email Wyre Forest District Council’s Brinton Park Heritage Fund project coordinator, Lesley Fox at Lesley.fox@wyreforestdc.gov.uk.
If volunteers are unable to make the training session, the surveys can still be completed as full guidance notes will be emailed over to those interested, depending on availability.
