Important Crime Prevention Advice Evening
Officers and staff from West Mercia Police will be on hand to offer you free crime prevention advice at an event organised by the Bewdley and Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team.
The event is planned for the evening of Thursday 30th June 2016 and will start at 6:30pm at the Far Forest Pavilion / Showground, Tenbury Road (A456), Callow Hill, NR Kidderminster, DY14 9DA.
We have experienced an increase in theft and break-ins to garden sheds, garages and outbuildings since the beginning of the year. The majority of these incidents have taken place within the Parish of Rock. Our records show, since January 2016, 43 crimes of this nature have been reported across our rural areas which include Rock, Pound Green, Arley, Shatterford and Kidderminster Foreign (Trimpley). 37 of those 43 crimes took place in Rock.
The Bewdley and Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working with those residents most closely affected by this and have now successfully set up a number of new Neighbourhood Watch Schemes.
The team would now like to offer all residents and businesses the opportunity to come along to our event to gain an insight into crime prevention and the measures you can take to try to make your property less of a temptation to criminals. If you are interested in joining an existing Neighbourhood Watch, Rural Watch or Horse Watch Scheme, or if you would like to set up a new one, we will be able to arrange that on the evening - just pop in and see us.
The evening will begin with a presentation on crime prevention measures from our Crime Risk Manager, Pete Aston. This will be followed by an introduction to the West Mercia Police ‘We Don’t Buy Crime’ project which is currently running throughout our force areas. The remainder of the evening will be an opportunity for you to chat with the team.
Officers from Bewdley & Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team will be available, along with our PACT panel and councilors, to discuss any community issues or concerns you may have.
