Safer Wyre Forest, working in partnership with the Worcestershire Forum against Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence,  is seeking your support for the forthcoming International White Ribbon Campaign/16 days of action, commencing on Monday 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and concluding on Tuesday 10 December (International Human Rights Day).

Whilst the International campaign has a focus on women, in Worcestershire we are embracing both sexes, supporting men, women and children. These crimes have a devastating effect on their victims.  This campaign seeks to engage people across Worcestershire, regardless of gender and we hope that you are able to support this important campaign by cascading it across your networks through your established contacts.

As part of the Campaign, agencies or individuals can access the domestic abuse eLearning training offered by the Safeguarding Children’s Board FREE OF CHARGE, as long as it is started and completed during the 16 days.  This offer is not restricted to colleagues in the child safeguarding arena, but also those that seek to safeguard adults as well.  In support of this package is a professionals’ information pack that can be downloaded, please see the leaflet attached.

Please SAY NO to Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. You can make your pledge by going to www.whiteribboncampaign.co.uk/worcestershire  and clicking on the pledge button. Once someone pledges, then a white ribbon will appear on the interactive map over their post code.

Please see the fact sheet attached about the campaign and two posters which can be printed off.  It would also be appreciated if you could encourage individuals to utilise any social media that you have access to promote the campaign. You can follow the campaign on Twitter at #whiteribbon.  If you would like any ribbons (free of charge), please email hilary.hollis@wyreforestdc.gov.uk
