The Mayor of Bewdley’s annual Civic Service and Parade took place on Sunday 26th June 2017. Councillor Anna Coleman welcomed civic guests from across Worcestershire including Mayors from Worcester, Malvern, Stourport, Evesham and Kidderminster. The Bewdley Scout and Guide Band provided a rousing march past before the Mayor’s party made their way to St Anne’s Church in the centre of the town.

The service was led by Minister Tom Cox from Bewdley Baptist Church and was hosted by Bewdley Churches Together. The Mayor of Bewdley, Councillor Anna Coleman said “the service was a wonderful celebration of Bewdley’s spirit of community with all the Bewdley churches taking part. My thanks go to all the church representatives and in particular to Tom Cox and to St Anne’s for making me feel so welcome”.

Joining the Mayor were Councillor Anne Hingley, Chair of Worcestershire County Council and Councillor John Campion, Vice Chair of Wyre Forest District Council and the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner. Kyle Daisley, Events Officer, added “Bewdley was very privileged to have so many local civic representatives and we hope that they all went back to their respective towns with good memories of the welcome they received in Bewdley”.

The Mayor also showcased her two charities for the year, Friends of Riverside North Park and the Bewdley Food Bank. The service and parade was followed by tea and cake in the Guildhall.
