Work on repairing the roof and high level masonry and gutters at St Anne's Church is nearly complete. The urgent work was necessary to prevent water ingress into the church and to secure loose high level stonework. This week all external scaffolding was removed. Work continues on interior repair work and the church is open for visitors.

We know that many residents would like to see what work has been undertaken. Much of the work is hidden from view and access to the roof at the church is quite restricted so we have mounted an exhibition in the church. This shows before and after pictures of the large amount of work undertaken on this prominent Grade II* Georgian listed building in the centre of the town.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Saturday from Tuesday 18 October until Wednesday 2 November. All are welcome to visit the exhibition and have a look and a coffee.

The works have been funded by a grant of £100,000 from the Government's Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund and approximately £30,000 from the Government's Listed Places of Worship VAT Reclaim Scheme.  Generous donations from charitable trusts have totalled over £43,000. Bewdley Town Council has contributed £1,000 leaving the Parochial Church Council to fund the balance.
